1. How we ship
- Every shipment is insured for its full sale price and tracked door-to-door.
- Coins travel in rigid capsules or flips inside padded boxes; banknotes in archival sleeves with stiffeners, never folded.
- Graded/slabbed items are shipped in their slabs with certification numbers recorded before dispatch.
- Dispatch: TNH Direct items ship within 2 business days of cleared payment; Vendor handling times are shown on each listing (maximum 5 business days).
- Signature is required on delivery for orders above USD 250 (or equivalent).
2. Destinations, times, and costs
We ship worldwide except to destinations under comprehensive sanctions or where carriage of collectible currency is prohibited. Estimated times after dispatch: India domestic 2–5 business days; Asia-Pacific and Middle East 5–10; Europe and North America 7–14; elsewhere 10–20. Customs inspection can add time and is outside our control.
Shipping cost is calculated at checkout by destination, weight, and value. Orders combining items from multiple sellers ship separately from each seller.
3. Customs, duties, and taxes
International shipments are exported under a commercial invoice declaring the true contents and value — we do not mark items as “gift” or under-declare value, ever; doing so is customs fraud and would void insurance.
Import duties, VAT/GST, and clearance fees in the destination country are the buyer's responsibility unless collected at checkout. Collectible coins and banknotes enjoy reduced or zero import duty in many countries (and margin/VAT concessions such as the EU's collector-item rules), but treatment varies — check your local rules before ordering if duty matters to you.
If a parcel is returned because the buyer declined to pay import charges or failed to respond to customs, we refund the item price minus our outbound and return shipping costs.
4. Antiquities and cultural property — where an item may travel
Numismatic material can be cultural property. The rules below are enforced at listing time and at checkout, and they override anything else in this policy:
- Indian antiquities: under the Antiquities and Art Treasures Act, 1972, coins and similar objects of Indian origin that are more than 100 years old and located in India are “antiquities” and may not be exported from India. Listings for such items are marked “India delivery only” and the Platform blocks foreign shipping addresses for them. Within India they may be bought and sold freely; the Act's registration requirements for certain categories remain the owner's responsibility.
- Other origin countries: many states (including Greece, Italy, Türkiye, Egypt, China, and much of Latin America) restrict export of ancient coins found or located in their territory. Sellers must hold and, on request, produce lawful export documentation or evidence the item was outside the source country before the relevant cut-off dates.
- Import restrictions: the destination country may restrict import of ancient or cultural goods — for example, the United States enforces country-specific import restrictions on certain ancient coin types under the Cultural Property Implementation Act, and the EU requires import licences or importer statements for certain cultural goods under Regulation (EU) 2019/880. The buyer is responsible for import legality; if customs refuses entry on cultural-property grounds and the listing was accurate, our standard refused-parcel rule applies.
- Provenance: for ancient material and any item over 250 years old, listings must state provenance to the extent known. TNH may demand provenance evidence before allowing a listing or releasing a payout.
5. Sanctions and restricted destinations
We screen orders against applicable sanctions lists (UN, EU, UK, US OFAC, and Indian law). We cannot ship to comprehensively sanctioned territories, to listed persons, or where the item itself is sanctioned (for example, certain items of North Korean origin). Affected orders are cancelled and refunded.
6. Insurance claims
If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged: report within 72 hours of the delivery scan (or within 30 days of dispatch for non-delivery), keep all packaging, and provide photographs. We pay you first — replacement or full refund — and pursue the insurer ourselves. You agree to cooperate reasonably with claim paperwork.
7. Vendor shipments
Vendors must ship with tracking and insurance to the standards above; the Platform provides the customs description templates. Vendor payouts are withheld until delivery confirmation. Vendors who under-declare, mis-describe customs contents, or ship restricted items to blocked destinations are removed from the Platform.
